We proudly presented Aspire with a $2,500 check but we hope our do-good partnership will continue.

Meat Our Worchester Friends #meatheadsact

As our friend, Maggie, from Aspire mentioned a few days ago, the Meatheads team had the opportunity to visit the home of some of Aspire's most inspirational people and it was a blast!

We started our visit with a feast of meathead burgers prepared especially for the group.  I knew they enjoyed them not because of all the thanks given, but because as soon as they started eating the room went silent for about 15 minutes!!

Next we got a tour of the home and saw everyone's room starting with Todd.  I must say his collection of Chicago Bulls gear made me a little jealous.  Among other highlights was a massive collection of Special Olympic medals (mostly Gold), vintage airplane models and books, a pristine assembly of Disney stuffed animals and one heck of a Boom Box that I'm told only plays Michael Jackson.

After the tour was a little craft time where we painted Easter eggs which made for some good photo opps:

None of the art pictured in these photos but trust it was some good stuff.

The experience at the Worchester Home was truly incredible and the Meatheads team had such a wonderful time!  On behalf of everyone at Meatheads I want to say thanks to Aspire for partnering with us in our mission to collect Random Acts of Kindness.  It has been a touching experience hearing, seeing and participating in acts of kindness over the past 2 months.

Please continue to share with us (@meatheadsburger) and Aspire (@ASPIREorg) your acts of kindness.

Gave someone a hug?  Brightened a coworker's day?  WE WANT TO HEAR ABOUT IT!! #meatheadsact

Meatheads Bring Burgers and Smiles to Aspire

Dscn1488

Inspired by the 10,000 Acts of Kindness campaign, a group of Meatheads, staff at some of the local Meatheads Burgers & Fries restaurants, came to visit adults with developmental disabilities at one of Aspire’s community homes.

As they met and toured the home, Meatheads could see each resident had his own style and personality. The visit wasn’t so different from a house warming party. People of all abilities made new friends, chatted and laughed. Later, they even did crafts in the kitchen.

The residents loved having their Meathead guests so much they invited them back to visit their home again!

“It was a fun and exciting night for the guys who live here,” said one Aspire staff member who provides support to the eight men living in this particular home. “Especially since we typically watch television and clean on Tuesdays.”

All residents share aspects of running a home, such as cooking, cleaning and grocery shopping, but tonight they not only postponed Tuesday clean-up, but cooking, too. Meatheads brought burgers! Dinner was so good, all the guys agreed to visit Meatheads Burgers & Fries for lunch in two weeks.

A big thank you goes out to Meatheads! We hope Meatheads enjoyed the experience as much as we enjoyed hosting them.

What acts of kindness have you done lately?

Maggie, @msmaggiemarie

I went out and bought lunch for the security guard at my office building because his replacement for the day was going to be two hours late and he couldn't leave his desk until the replacement arrived.
